Imaging plays a prominent role in translational research assessing the efficacy of new compounds and drugs. In vivo imaging allows quantification of biodistribution effects as well as longitudinal studies. Such imaging studies are inherently multi-modal where the set of modalities is chosen in order to maximize the insight on the question of interest. This yields a plethora of data that has to be organized and processed properly to achieve meaningful results. The resulting assessments help to fulfill the promise of predictive, preventative, and personalized medicine and will finally translate into new treatment options for care cycles in oncology, cardiology and neurology.
IMALYTICS is a versatile tool for data organization and processing and analysis in translational imaging. It introduces a project based data organization with a set of processing and viewing components that can be flexibly combined in order to support your study of interest. The workspace supports preclinical and human data from PET, CT, SPECT and MR systems for non-diagnostic and non-therapeutic use only. Data import is possible via CD/DVD/USB devices and DICOM network servers. Support for further modalities, like US, Optical and even new modalities like spectral CT is on the roadmap. Beyond that the integration of non-imaging data (e.g. genetic profiles, mass spectrometry) is investigated.

The IMALYTICS Workspace features project-centric workflow, comprehensive image analysis, quantification, and visualization tools to support four imaging modalities (PET, CT, SPECT and MRI). Key features of the standard product configuration include advanced tools for data storage, registration, segmentation, and visualization that meets the efficiency and productivity needs of translational imaging research labs. The IMALYTICS Workspace is based on an open architecture ready to integrate future translational research applications, and is DICOM compatible. The user interface and underlying storage model accommodate research workflow: discovery projects are accessed and stored by name, allowing imaging subjects to be identified and stored by project, species, and time point for simpler data management.
Available with high-performance hardware workstation or as software-only configuration.
BIOSTAR Longitudinal ROI Analysis Option
The BIOSTAR Treatment Response Assessment Option is a powerful solution to simplify the workflow for the assessment of response to a therapy based on longitudinal PET/CT studies. Its key features include: Automatic rigid registration of several follow-up studies to baseline; manual corrections are possible; Definition
of an arbitrary number of regions of interest (ROI) using several tools, e.g. a sphere tool for comparability with current practice and an activity-based automatic segmentation tool; Propagation of the defined ROIs through the longitudinal study, employing local corrections for eventual registration errors; Dedicated viewing protocols for ROI definition and overview of the entire time series; Many ROI quantifications, including max SUV, mean/median SUV, 95% percentile SUV, volume, total glycolytic volume, reference tissue, etc.; Graphical and textual display of quantifications; Easy export of all quantifications, e.g. to MS Excel; thus very well suited for large-scale clinical studies; Easy storage and retrieval of ROI definitions.
VOXULUS Pharmacokinetic Modeling Option
This powerful pharmacokinetic modeling software developed by Philips Research Laboratories, provides biological parameters, rather than uptake images, and is useful for hypoxia, tumor cell proliferation, tumor metabolism, perfusion, and receptor binding studies. It also offers generic tissue compartment models that can be applied to new tracers. VOXULUS estimates functional or biological tissue parameters from dynamic data based on compartment models of the behavior of the tracer or imaging agent in the tissue of interest.
STRATOS Dosimetry Solution Option
The STRATOS Dosimetry Solution is an advanced software package for 3-dimensional dose calculation in nuclear medicine. It allows to calculate and visualize patient-individual dose maps for targeted therapeutic radionuclide agents based on antibodies or peptides. STRATOS optimally supports image-based dosimetry using SPECT/CT and PET/CT studies.
Non-rigid Registration Option
Advanced non-rigid image registration software using iso-intensity contour matching supporting image registration on subjects at multiple time-points for longitudinal studies or multiple subjects optimized for group studies.
CAD4D Evaluation Option
The Philips CAD4D Dementia Evaluation provides an advanced, easy-to-use analysis of FDG-PET brain images, and combined FDG-PET / MRI brain scan
visualization. It enables voxel-based statistical testing for detecting areas of significant hypo-metabolism, and provides quantitative comparison of scans to a database of clinically confirmed cases, using sophisticated pattern recognition and classification techniques.
JETPack SPECT Analysis Option
JETPack is an IDL based suite of SPECT analysis applications including: Pick 4x3, Conjugated Image Brain Regions, Brain Perfusion Index, Brain Dopamine Transport, Qualitative Renal Analysis, Renal Absolute Uptake, Renal Micturition, Bone Three Phase Dynamic, Bone Whole-Body/Static Ileo-Sacrum, Lung Projection to Planars, Lung Unpack, Liver and Gallbladder Analysis, Liver Perfusion, Gastro-Esophageal Reflux, Parathyroid Variable Subtraction, MIBG Uptake, and Quality Control (Camera Sensitivity and Background, FWHM and FWTM).
IDL Runtime and Developer’s Options
IDL is a comprehensive data visualization and analysis platform. The IDL Runtime Package includes the IDL runtime engine that allows to execute IDL based applications written by others, and the Developer's package provides you the environment to produce custom applications. IDL options are provided by arrangement with ITT. See ITT's website for more information.
Basic (Silver) Service, Research Advanced Service, or Research Premium Service.
All levels of service allow you and your lab to focus on the what you are trying to do, without undue time and energy spent on getting the tools to work. The Research Advanced provides a larger number of support hours and software updates, and the Research Premium Service is based on a mutual agreement on a specific topic in the domain of cardiology, oncology or neurology which provides access to works-in-process prototypes.
