Based in the Massachusetts biotech and medtech hub, Buckler Biomedical is organized to pursue projects and activities for the advancement of medicine.  Societal pressure on the one hand, and enabling technology capabilities on the other, is transforming the landscape both as it is used in the clinic as well as utilized in drug development.  Specifically, increasingly sophisticated biomedical signal and image exploitation approaches optimize the utlilization of technology to create solutions in improved cost effectiveness, diagnostic and therapeutic ability, and improved patient outcomes. 

However, these opportunties require a different approach: disease or health concern must be considered first, with application of appropriate technology being driven by it as opposed to the other way around.  Additionally, there is increasing ability and need for analytic processing of acquired data, even as the underlying platform capabilities also expand.  A particularly active example is the shift of in-vivo imaging from its historic roots as a subjective/qualitative discipline to a quantitative anaytical measurement method with increasingly capable computational results.

Who We Are

Andrew Buckler is the owner of Buckler Biomedical LLC and CEO of vascuVis Inc. Mr. Buckler has served in a variety of leadership roles in industry, having held successive Director roles at Philips Healthcare, and management and engineering roles at Hewlett-Packard, Siemens Medical, and Eastman Kodak. He has served as Research & Development Director, Imaging Systems focused on management, technology strategy, and business process for advanced application of in-vivo imaging for disease management and drug discovery. Mr. Buckler also has been the ultrasound business unit as the Director of Software and Systems Engineering and Section Manager, Specialty Ultrasound Products. He is a co-chair of the Quantitative Imaging Biomarker Alliance (QIBA). 

Mr. Buckler holds a certificate in "Leading Science-Based Enterprises" from Harvard Business School, a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Rochester, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University.
